Graduate Programs in Christian Education
The graduate programs in education offered by CCTC are scholarly in their academic approach and
practical in their application to the local school ministry. The goal of each program is to provide
proven tools that will be effective in helping to further the cause of Christ in the field of
Christian education. These programs are not designed to prepare students to teach in public schools.
These programs are beneficial to those who do or do not have prior training in the field of education.
The residence options in the graduate division of education are designed to meet the specific needs
of a wide variety of students who serve the Lord in Christian education. The summer graduate program
includes five consecutive sessions each summer. This permits some master’s students to complete a degree
in only two summers and doctoral and education specialist students to complete all but one or two courses
in only three summers.
To meet the needs of year-round students, all classes are offered online in our flexible learning
experience.
Note: Masters and Doctorate degree students will take the same classes as Bachelors students. However,
Masters students (level II) will have additional readings, papers, projects, service assignments, etc.
Additionally, Doctorate students will teach portions of classes as well as develop new course material
they research in the course area. Finally, both Masters and Doctoral students will develop and lead
online discussion groups, projects and learning.

The Master of Christian Education degree programs are structured to prepare teachers and administrators
to serve successfully in Christian schools across America.
Admission Requirements See General Admission Requirements. Graduate students in education
are not required to have majored in education on the undergraduate level.
Preschool/Elementary Education This master’s degree program is structured for preschool and
elementary school teachers who wish to improve their skills and overall ability in the classroom. This
program centers on materials, methods, and teaching techniques. Theory is firmly anchored to practice,
and a positive, encouraging spirit is personified by all instructors.
Secondary Education This master’s degree program emphasizes content, curriculum, pupil
management, and teaching techniques. It is designed to give the secondary teacher greater proficiency
in subject areas and to correct deficiencies in oral presentation, grading, and student evaluation.
Educational Administration This master’s degree program is available to college graduates
who are now, or intend to be, administrators, principals, vice principals, or academic supervisors. This
program, like each of our other programs, is carefully designed to give the working educator practical
training where he needs it most.
Summer Seminar Every graduate student must attend a one week summer symposium and complete
the written requirements prior to petitioning graduation. Please read carefully the Summer Seminar
information to determine which track you should register for in your particular master’s degree program.
